Stock Photo - 23 April 2020, Brandenburg, Potsdam: Behind the scaffolding of the base of the garrison church, the portal façade of the Long Stable can be seen. Inside the approximately 17-metre high plinth building, a chapel is to be built over two floors, in addition to a café, a large exhibition room and seminar rooms. The reconstruction of the tower of the former military church is to be completed by summer 2022. The church was built between 1730 and 1735 according to the plans of the architect Philipp Gerlach and was considered a major work of Prussian Baroque. After the bombing by the Allies on 14 April 1945, only ruins remained, which were blown up and removed only in 1968.
