Stock Photo - PlPlant Bug, Lygus pratensis on daisy. Plant Bug, Lygus pratensis, tiny plant bug found in hedgerows and meadows. Size: 6. 1-7. 3mm. Color varies: green, brown or reddish. Similar to Lygus maritimus and Lygus rugulipennis. Sap-sucking species, but also prefers flower nectar. Found on Leucanthemum vulgare, Tanacetum vulgare, Ranunculus acris, Raphanus raphanistrum, Linaria vulgaris, Calluna vulgaris, various Asteraceae and Aphididae species. Considered plant best. Can be controlled by parasitic wasps of genus Peristenus which lay eggs in L pratensis eggs so that when the egg hatches, the wasp laarvae eat the nymphs.
