Stock Photo - Following calls earlier this month for the iconic Coca-Cola truck to be banned from distributing sugary drinks in the run-up to Christmas, a wacky inventor decided to build a zero-emissions version to deliver a healthier alternative. Boasting more cargo space than a Transit Courier van, London-based Yannick Read believes his bicycle trailer is the largest in the world. Inside is a cargo of Green Cola, a beverage containing no unwanted chemicals, additives and preservatives. The giant six-wheeler Green Cola trailer is constructed from aluminium so is light enough to be towed by a small folding bicycle. At only 64cm wide, the articulated trailer can squeeze through traffic, but is unlikely to go unnoticed – its sides are illuminated by 3,500 low-voltage LED lights. A number of courier companies in London are now turning to cargo bikes to avoid the congestion charge and recently introduced T- charge, a fee for for higher emissions vehicles, but none is as large as the 88 cubic foot Green Cola trailer. Yannick Read explains: ""Cycle trailers help slash the air pollution, noise and danger caused by lorries on city streets so when Green Cola said they wanted a cleaner version of the famous Coke gas-guzzling Christmas truck, I jumped at the chance. With regards to the trailer’s size, I have searched the internet for anything bigger and can’t find anything. There is no existing Guinness World Record either."" Green Cola contains no sugar, calories, preservatives or phosphoric acid. It is sweetened with naturally derived Stevia and caffeinated with caffeine from green coffee beans.
