As the contaminated water is flushed from Parchment's system, some of it is directed to a small stream that leads to the Kalamazoo River. PFAS is a family of chemicals widely used in firefighting foam, waterproofing for clothing, and many other products. Exposure has been linked to a variety of serious diseases.
