Stock Photo - Feb. 28, 2012 - Mull goes Druid: Scottish Isle is venue for first druidic gathering in the North since 'The vanishing of the ancient days': On the almost Medieval Isle of Mull, Scotland, 'ruled' by the Lady of Mull, Mrs. Joan Ritchie, Druids from all over the Celtic world - Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany (all the places to which ancient Britons fled from the invaders in pre-Christian times) gathered together wearing their robes and insignia of office for the first time in history. Other meetings take place at Stone-enge in England, but never before has the ancient stone circle and Stone of Meditation at Lochbuis, Isle of Mull, been used for Druidic rites. The procession was led by a piper and a hornblower. A Fanfare announced the commencement of the rites. A horn of wine was presented by the 'host' Druid; Mrs. Ritchie, to the Chief Druid of the Mother Lodge. W--rd incantations were heard and generally one would have been transported back two thousand years had it not been for a nearby Jeep and a motor-ach.
