Stock Photo - 1962 - Lezaky (to mark the 35th anniversary of its destruction) On June 24, 35 years will have elapsed since a small peaceful village of Lezaky in eastern Bohemia was barbarously razed to the ground by Nazi SS-men during the unleashed mass terror against the Czech people. All the adult population of the village -16 men and 17 women were executed on the same day, June 24, 1942. All fourteen children were dragged away, only two of them were recovered after the war. The site of Lazaky with a monument and memorials has become a traditional site for peace rallies to honour the victims of the Lezaky tragedy - rallies against fascist methods of torture and imprisonment of patriots and progressive-thinking people in various parts of the world.
