Stock Photo - 1964 - She is the 'Fastest young lady' in Penrith!, The half pint sized motorist; The latest addition to the ranks of car drivers destined to make a name for herself is a very charming young blonde learner driver Fiona Egglestone who lives with her parents at Penrith, Cumberland. Fiona makes history for she is only 18 months Old. Her thirty four year old father Garage mechanic Mr. Harold Eggleston has built her a super kiddie car from and old toy pedal car and fitted it with a 49 cc air cooled engine two gears ,ignition and lights. It took him about 50 hours to construct the car which is now valued at -60. Top speed is 6 mph. Mr. Egglestone says 'Fiona loves driving and can steer OK but she finds stopping, starting and gear changing a little difficult and just in case Fiona runs into anything he has fitted a gadget that stops her car dead on impact. Says proud daddy - 'It is not every kiddy who can drive - before she can talk'. Photo Shows A motoring we will go - Fiona has just 'topped up' and she is away.
