In the debate, statements were made by the representatives of Czechoslovakia, United States, Canada, France, Denmark, Hungary, Brazil, Soviet Union and United Kingdom. Before the adoption of the agenda, statements were made by the representatives of the Soviet Union (which sent a letter opposing discussion of the item), the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Denmark and Paraguay.
