Stock Photo - 01 July 2021, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Rostock: The oil spill response vessel ""Vilm"" is moored in the fishing port. Contracts for the use of the oil spill response vessels ""Vilm"" and ""Flunder"" to combat possible oil spills in the Baltic Sea were subsequently signed between the Ministry of the Environment of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and representatives of Baltic Taucher (Rostock) and Fairplay Towage Group (Hamburg). The Havariekommando is also involved in the procedure. In the event of a complex damage situation at sea, the Havariekommando takes over the operational command and uses ships from the federal government and the five northern German states for this purpose.
