The bears come from a Swedish zoo that is being closed down. For the 50th anniversary at Aschersleben Zoo, there was a big birthday party with lots of surprises. Since the opening, more than 4.5 million people have visited the near-natural facilities and marveled at both native and exotic animals. In this time, the former zoo has become a zoo that is known above all for its focus on small and large big cats and, with its numerous play facilities, the integrated planetarium and its jungle café, is a popular destination for young and old alike.
