Platooning is convoy driving with very small distances between trucks through the aid of a technological driving system. DB Schenker, MAN Truck & Bus and the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences are for the first time testing truck platooning under actual driving conditions. In this test trucks are connected through a technological driver assistance and control system, as well as an electronic pivot line, in order to minimize the distance between trucks to between 12 and 15 meters.
