Stock Photo - 02 May 2023, Saxony-Anhalt, Memleben: An altar stone from the 11th century, whose inscription refers to Gottschalk of Aachen, is shown in the exhibition of the Memleben Monastery and Imperial Palace. From Sunday (07 May), the monastery and imperial palace is dedicated to an archaeological deep search at the place of death of Otto the Great with the exhibition project ""Des Kaisers Herz"". Memleben was one of the most important places of rulership in the European Middle Ages in the 10th century. Here, 2023 marks the 1050th anniversary of the death of Emperor Otto the Great. Innovative, computer-aided 3D visualizations as ""augmented reality"" allow a fascinating insight into the architectural splendor of the former monumental church and the historic monastery complex of Memleben.
