The renovation of the little sister of the Göltzschtal bridge is progressing according to plan. At the moment, 36,000 of the approximately twelve million bricks of the second largest brick bridge in the world are being replaced. The bricks were specially made according to a historical model. According to the railroad, the renovation work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. The Elster Valley Bridge was built between 1846 and 1851.
