Stock Photo - 02 October 2019, Brandenburg, Klessin: Werner Schulz, excavation technician of the association for the recovery of fallen persons in Eastern Europe e.V. (VBGO), uncovers the remains of a Soviet soldier from the Second World War in a former trench. The search for the remains of war dead on the edge of the Oderbruch continues. To this day, the whereabouts of many war dead from the Second World War in East Brandenburg remain unclear. So far, according to its own statements, the association has encountered the remains of about 120 German and 120 Soviet soldiers in the Klessin area since its foundation in the 1990s. This year numerous members and partners of the association from seven nations participate in the search. Photo: Patrick Pleul/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa. - Klessin/Brandenburg/Germany
