Stock Photo - 02 October 2019, US, New York: Already during the construction of the facade of the Metropolitan Museum in New York, four niches for sculptures were left open - now they have been filled for the first time in 117 years. Four different bronze sculptures by the Kenyan-American artist Wangechi Mutu, inspired by African women's customs, have recently been on display on the façade. ""The Seated I, II, III, and IV"" is the first installation of a new action by the renowned museum at Central Park in Manhattan. Each year, another artist is commissioned by the museum to ""animate"" its façade. The four prelude sculptures will be on display until 12 January 2020. Photo: Christina Horsten/dpa. - New York/US
