On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the consecration of the Provost Church on Bassinplatz, a festive programme lasting several days takes place. The brick building was constructed between 1867 and 1870 according to the plans of the German architect and senior building officer of the Prussian building administration, Wilhelm Salzenberg. The characteristic feature of the brick building is the 64-metre high Italian bell tower, which is modelled on the Campanile in Verona.
