The first varieties have been harvested there since the last week of July. The Apollo variety is also an early variety, but it is less storable. This has to do with the sugar that the variety develops at high temperatures. The main harvesting period of storable varieties does not begin until the end of August. On the plantation of the Hornemann orchard, minus temperatures were measured during eight nights in spring, which could have damaged the tree blossom.
