The Apollo variety is also an early apple variety, but it is less storable. This is due to the sugar that the variety develops at high temperatures. The main harvesting period of storable varieties does not begin until the end of August. On the plantation of the Hornemann orchard, minus temperatures were measured during eight nights in spring, which could have damaged the tree blossom.
