The renovation of the Rakotzbrücke bridge and the associated grotto in Rhododendronpark Kromlau is to be completed by the end of 2020. According to the municipality, the reconstruction of the grotto, which collapsed in 1952, and the bridge at risk of collapse cost around 4.2 million euros. The grotto belongs to the listed group consisting of the Rakotzbrücke bridge and the so-called organ made of basalt, which Friedrich Hermann Rötschke had built between 1842 and 1875.
