Stock Photo - 06 April 2020, Saxony-Anhalt, Arneburg: Hubert Buddy from the Fire Brigade Technical Centre (FTZ) of the Stendal district stands at the hose washing machine in which a washed fire hose is rolled up. In the FTZ new hoses are stored and old hoses are checked and washed. In the afternoon the converted hose washing facility of the FTZ was put into operation. The hose washing is basically the washing machine for fire hoses. The FTZ cleans and tests about 10.000 of these fire hoses per year. In the district of Stendal up to 16,000 hoses are in use by the fire brigades. Each hose has to be washed after each deployment.
