Stock Photo - 06 August 2020, Saxony-Anhalt, Halle (Saale): A record with Wangerooger Frisian is to be found in the ""Phonetic Collection"" of the Martin Luther University Halle on a Lindström gramophone from 1931. The university's collection is a time travel through the world of playing and recording technology from the beginning of the 20th century to the present and at the same time contains a valuable sound archive. In addition to tapes or vinyl records, the collection also includes 120 wax cylinders with voice recordings, including dialects. Among other things, the Wangerooger Frisian is saved from oblivion here, a dialect that has long since died out. Photo: Hendrik Schmidt/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Halle (Saale)/Saxony-Anhalt/Germany
