Stock Photo - 06 August 2020, Saxony-Anhalt, Halle (Saale): Susanne Voigt-Zimmermann, Professor of Speech Science and Phonetics at the Martin Luther University Halle, shows a model of the structure of the speech apparatus in the university's ""Phonetic Collection"". The university's collection is a journey through time through the world of playback and recording technology from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day and at the same time contains a valuable sound archive. In addition to tapes or vinyl records, the collection also includes 120 wax cylinders with speech recordings, including dialects. Among other things, the Wangerooger Frisian is saved from oblivion here, a dialect that has long since died out. Photo: Hendrik Schmidt/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Halle (Saale)/Saxony-Anhalt/Germany
