Stock Photo - 06 March 2021, Saxony-Anhalt, Timmenrode: The first rays of sunshine of the day hit the Hamburger Wappen. The sandstone formation is part of a popular ridge trail that winds its way from the Großvaterfelsen near Blankenburg to the Hamburger Wappen near Timmenrode. Passing bizarrely shaped rocks with imaginative names such as Schweinekopf (pig's head), Zwergenhöhe (dwarf's height) or Teufelskessel (devil's cauldron), there are always impressive views of the mountain worlds of the Harz along the way. The part of the ridge trail in the area of the Devil's Wall, also known as the ""Löbbeckestieg"", is considered the most exciting and varied section of the long-distance trail.
