At a press conference held on the same day at Branitz Palace, the Verein Schlösser und Gärten Deutschland e.V. and the Stiftung Fürst-Pückler-Museum Park und Schloss Branitz jointly presented themselves to the public and talked about the current damage to historic gardens caused by climate change and the resulting dangers for cultural heritage. In the Branitzer Park, the condition of the valuable tree population deteriorated drastically in 2018 and 2019 due to special climatic phenomena. The first trees had to be felled because of the damage. The park, composed with great sensitivity by Hermann Fürst von Pückler-Muskau in Branitz, is considered the last of the large German landscape gardens.
