Stock Photo - 06 November 2022, Brandenburg, Boitzenburg: The morning sun shines through the canopy of ancient oaks onto the remains of the monastery ruins. About 20 kilometers west of Prenzlau and about 80 kilometers north of Berlin lies the small Uckermark village of Boitzenburg. Here, until the Thirty Years' War, there was the monastery Marienpforte of the Cistercian nuns. The monastery was probably founded in 1271 by the margraves Johann II, Otto IV and Konrad von Brandenburg. Today, only the walls of the building remind us of the former beauty of the monastery.
