The city of Chemnitz wants to better prepare itself for future hot spells. To this end, heat hotspots are now being identified in the city center. A drone equipped with a thermal camera is providing detailed thermal images during the day and after sunset. The aim is to create important data for the city's heat action plan. The aim is to identify areas that are particularly at risk and to determine how high the overall heat load is during the summer half-year in individual parts of the city.
