Stock Photo - 08 December 2020, Brandenburg, Sieversdorf: Martin Philipp, a ceramist from the company Golem GmbH Kunst- und Baukeramik, is working on a bear's head made of clay. In the coming weeks, 15 of these bear heads will be produced in the company for the new construction of a primary school in Berlin-Friedrichshain. The figures are gargoyles, which will serve as emergency overflow for the school's roof drainage system. A plastic model from a 3D printer was used as a template for the plaster mould. The finished bear heads have to dry for about 14 days. Only then are they fired in an oven at 1040 degrees Celsius for 72 hours. During the firing the figures take on a brick-red colour.
