Stock Photo - 08 December 2022, Saxony, Jesewitz: In the cellar of his home, record collector Uwe Winkler stands among 17,000 vinyl records pressed in the GDR. In over 40 years, the graduate engineer and pyrotechnician has collected almost all of the 11,000 record titles and many variations of them that were pressed in Babelsberg and Moscow in the former GDR between 1956 and 1990. On the shelves, which are filled from ceiling to floor with records, there are albums arranged by catalog number, ranging from folk music, workers' and fight songs to classical music and records for school lessons. From his hobby, the collector from Jesewitz in Saxony now wants to open his business for records and used sound carriers. Photo: Waltraud Grubitzsch/dpa/ZB. - Jesewitz/Saxony/Germany
