Stock Photo - 08 January 2019, Saxony-Anhalt, Blanckenburg: The sculpture of the nymph Galatea can be seen in the Michaelstein Monastery in front of the water wheels of the music machine that drive the apparatus. In between are banners on which the Cyclops Polyphom can be seen, from which the nymph tries to flee. The instrument, designed by the universal scholar Salomon de Caus (1576 - 1626), is currently being built and will be open to the public again from 07 April 2019. The machine was built in 1998 by scientists from the Rheinsch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen as part of a research project.
