Stock Photo - 09 July 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Kaarz: The manor house Schloss Kaarz in the office Sternberger Seenlandschaft. The castle is used for tourism and serves as hotel, café and restaurant. The Kaarz Manor was founded in the 17th century. In GDR times, the manor house was used as an old people's home, was rebuilt several times and became more and more dilapidated. After the reunification the building was extensively renovated. In 2013 the estate was sold to a Dutch entrepreneur. After more than twelve months of renovation and restoration, the house shines in its old glory. In addition to the restaurant, the manor house has 22 rooms, apartments and a suite, as well as a library and the Blue Salon. The characteristic castle tower can be reached by guests via a cast-iron spiral staircase. Photo: Jens Büttner/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Kaarz/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania/Germany
