Stock Photo - 09 July 2023, Thuringia, Kyffhäuserland: Tina from Braunschweig stands in breezy summer clothes dressed with a scarf, on the warmest day of the year so far, in the Barbarossa Cave. A cool place even in summer. With a constant temperature of about 9 degrees, it is quite cool in the cave even on hot summer days. The Barbarossa Cave was discovered on 20.12.1865 and opened to visitors just two weeks later. It has the dimensions of 800 meters long and an area of 15000 square meters. From ceilings and walls grow down more than one meter long plaster flaps. Impressive structures are reflected in the numerous lakes. Photo: Matthias Bein/dpa. - Kyffhäuserland/Thuringia/Germany
