Margot Friedländer was already honored with the honorary citizenship of the city of Berlin in 2018. Born in Berlin in 1921, the Jewish woman disappeared at the age of 21 and lived underground for 15 months. In April 1944 she was arrested and shortly afterwards deported to Theresienstadt. Her mother, her brother, most of her relatives and friends were murdered. After the war Friedländer emigrated to the USA. In 2010, after more than 60 years, she moved back to Berlin to tell her story to children and young people. Photo: Bernd von Jutrczenka/dpa. - Berlin/Berlin/Germany
