Stock Photo - 09 October 2022, Saxony-Anhalt, Halle (Saale): The bullet holes of the far-right terrorist who attacked the synagogue in Halle in 2019 can be seen in the former door. The door was designed by the artist Lidia Edel, as a monument and stands under the title ""nine-ten-nineteen"" in the courtyard of the synagogue. On October 9, three years ago, a heavily armed assassin had tried to enter the synagogue in Halle on the highest Jewish holiday, Yom Kippur. When he failed, he shot a 40-year-old passerby in front of it and a 20-year-old customer in a nearby kebab restaurant. On his escape, the assassin injured numerous other people before he was caught by the police. Photo: Hendrik Schmidt/dpa. - Halle (Saale)/Saxony-Anhalt/Germany
