Stock Photo - 12 October 2019, Saxony, Dresden: View from the viewing platform on the Dresden television tower during an open day for selected persons on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the official inauguration of the tower on the Elbe valley and the city. The 252 metre high television tower was opened on 7 October 1969. The tower was closed to the public in the middle of 1991. Since then it has been regarded as an important building of Eastern Modernism. At a height of 145 metres there was a restaurant on two floors, above it a viewing platform. Before the closure, an average of 200,000 guests per year came in, and today's business operations still require about the same number.
