According to media reports, oxygen reserves in hospitals are becoming scarce, even for newborns who need care. This is said to be due to the blockades that opponents of the interim government have erected around various cities since the beginning of August. The blockades would cut off hospitals from the oxygen supply. Some oxygen suppliers, however, claim that oxygen has been in short supply for weeks - especially since an important oxygen factory is carrying out maintenance work during Corona times. Blockades, for their part, say that they would let important transports through. While the number of Covid-19 infected people in the country is rising, the country is in a political crisis. Opponents of the interim government are using the blockades to demand that the election date of September 6 be met. The Supreme Election Court had moved the date to October 18.
