By this kind of fishing the animals are stunned by electric current and can be taken at the water surface. This work is done by two anglers who were hired by the city of Senftenberg to reduce the fish population in the castle pond. Most recently, the water level in the pond had dropped about one meter below normal. The reduction of the fish mass is intended to prevent a mass die-off due to lack of oxygen.
