During the Corona pandemic, Baumann-Kahlo spent many hours knitting in the wheelchair as a thank-you to the many helpers in the crisis, who are not so present in public. People see the wheelchair, as she does, as a symbol of needing help. She sees the chair as a ""helper's chair"".
