The spectator capacity increases from 42,558 to 47,069 standing and seated. The outside of the stadium is enclosed with a soundproof facade. The embankment of the former Zentralstadion, which encompasses the arena, was cut open behind the historic bell tower to make room for a new entrance. RB Leipzig is investing a good 60 million euros in the conversion by 2022.
