Stock Photo - 15 August 2021, Saxony-Anhalt, Harzgerode: Felix sits on the pond dam of the Teufelsteich near Harzgerode and watches the early morning mist. The pond was created in the 17th century to ensure the supply of water power to the surrounding mines. The pond owes its name to the Teufelsberg near Silberhütte. Since 1945 the pond has been used as a drinking water reservoir. It can accumulate up to 785000 cubic metres of water. Because of its size, the reservoir has the status of a dam.
