In recent years, too many koi have nibbled the shoots of the dark red ""queens of the ponds,"" which are particularly sought after by customers, and thus prevented them from growing. Around 20 varieties of water lilies and other aquatic plants grow on an area of around 5,000 square meters for customers throughout Germany.
