The 17 meter high Douglas fir has a diameter of eight meters and weighs about 3.5 tons. The tree comes from a private property in Hohenfelde south of Bad Doberan. The Christmas market will start this year on 26 November. The market, which is considered the largest in northern Germany, lasts until two days before Christmas.
