On 13 April 1945, shortly before the end of the war, over 1000 concentration camp prisoners were driven into a barn and murdered here. The barn had been set on fire by SS soldiers, members of the Wehrmacht, but also civilians. Only a few concentration camp prisoners survived the massacre.
