Climate trees from Berlin's Humboldt University are moving into Pückler Park. This week, 21 climate-adapted trees from a research project of the Humboldt University of Berlin will be replanted in Branitz Park. These include species and varieties of maple, hornbeam and oak that are rather unknown in this country. In the coming years, a climate tree nursery is to be established on twelve hectares of the listed outdoor park in Branitz - with cultivation areas, trial plantings and teaching gardens. New methods of woody plant propagation are to be applied in laboratories. The experience and possibilities of the tree nursery will also benefit other historic gardens.
