Stock Photo - 17 April 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Freest: In the harbour, a sign with the inscription ""Save the fishery in MV"" hangs on a fisherman's hut belonging to a fisherman of the Freest fishing cooperative. According to the association of cutter and coastal fishermen, the crisis caused by the coronavirus is accelerating the decline of the fishing trade. So far, for example, the fishery cooperative in Freest (district Vorpommern-Greifswald), the largest fishing location in the country, had supplied Poland. Nothing is currently being purchased there. Normally, customers in Poland and the Netherlands would now buy horn fish, cod and flatfish and white fish such as roach and lead. There is no market for them now.
