Stock Photo - 17 May 2019, Brandenburg, Markendorf: The frozen fruit stands on a plum tree in a plantation near Frankfurt (Oder) are black. A single frost night at the beginning of May ruins almost the entire harvest for fruit growers in eastern and southern Brandenburg. The cold flow only affected some regional locations. Climate change is said to be to blame for the extreme weather conditions. Nobody in East Brandenburg had this frost club on their screens. The horror was all the greater, especially among the fruit growers the following morning: In the night from 4 to 5 May this year, a locally limited flow of cold caused the fruit sets on fruit trees to freeze to death, especially in the area around Frankfurt(Oder), Müncheberg and in southern Brandenburg. Almost the entire harvest of the fruit growers is ruined. The black fruit sets simply fall from the tree. Photo: Patrick Pleul/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Markendorf/Brandenburg/Germany
