In an emotional ceremony, the Free State of Saxony has returned the remains of another six people from the colonial era to their country of origin, Australia. Descendants of the Australian indigenous people also attended the ceremonial handover at the Grassi Museum für Völkerkunde in Leipzig. The bones of six people from the ethnographic collection of the Dresden State Art Collections (SKD) were handed over. They came from grave looting and from victims of violent conflicts. This was already the third return. All 16 German states and the federal government supported the repatriation efforts. Photo: Hendrik Schmidt/dpa. - Leipzig/Saxony/Germany
