Stock Photo - 18 April 2023, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Stralsund: The lettering ""Segelschulschiff Gorch Fock"" on the steering wheel on the sailing ship ""Gorch Fock I"". The training ship, built for the Reichsmarine, was launched in Hamburg in 1933 and went to the Soviet Union as reparations after the end of the war. In 2003, the association ""Tall Ship Friends"" acquired the ship from the Ukraine and had it brought to Stralsund. The ""Gorch Fock I"" is not to be confused with the German Navy's training ship ""Gorch Fock"" built in 1958. The Hanseatic City of Stralsund is planning to refurbish the historic ship.
