For several years, several bee colonies have been living on the properties of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) - in these days, the beekeepers start with the honey summer harvest. The honey is then extracted in the BVG canteen, the company announced. Approximately 3000 glasses come off each year. About a dozen bee colonies, each with about 50,000 animals, live on BVG property in Siegfriedstraße in Lichtenberg and in Neukölln and Karlshorst. The colonies are looked after by professional beekeepers. Photo: Fabian Sommer/dpa. - Berlin/Berlin/Germany
