Stock Photo - 19 December 2022, Berlin: Ruth Ur, Executive Director of the Friends of Yad Vashem, speaks at a joint Hanukkah celebration of German President Steinmeier with members of the Posner family at Bellevue Palace. The Posner family's candelabra was photographed by Rahel Posner in 1931 on the windowsill of her apartment in Kiel. Through the window, the swastika flags on the building of the NSDAP district leadership can be seen on the opposite side of the street. The photograph became internationally famous. On their flight to Palestine in 1933, the Posner family took the candelabra with them. It is now on permanent loan to Yad Vashem in the Museum of the History of the Holocaust in Jerusalem, where it is displayed along with the photograph.
