Stock Photo - 19 July 2019, Chile, Osterinsel: The ceremonial platform Ahu Tongariki in the southwest of Easter Island with 15 Moai. The stone statues are supposed to represent the ancestors of the Polynesian natives and always look inland with a few exceptions. They were carved directly out of the stone at the Rano Raraku volcano and then transported several kilometres to the ceremonial platforms where they were erected.
